reDefining Expectations: Faith Over Fear
About
Today, each of us has our own set of worries, whether it’s personal struggles or external threats that seem to loom large. The constant barrage of negative news and conversations can make it feel like danger is always lurking, ready to pounce at any moment. Despite the challenges and difficult situations we may be facing in our own lives, it’s crucial to recognize the interconnectedness of our faith, actions, and decisions with the world around us. Just like the powerful message in the movie Black Panther, ’What happens now determines what happens to the rest of the world,’ our choices have a profound impact on not just our own lives, but on the collective future. In moments of fear, confusion, and despair, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and lost, reaching out for a lifeline to pull us out of the darkness. However, it’s essential to cultivate inner strength and resilience, leaning on the support of loved ones, and holding onto the belief that brighter days are on the horizon. Remember, you possess the ability to carve out your own path, to shape a future filled with hope along with positivity and make a meaningful difference in the world around you.
The passage from Isaiah 43:1-2 states:
‘The Lord says he created the people of Jacob and formed the people of Israel. He reassures them not to be afraid, as he has saved them, called them by name, and claimed them as his own. He promises to be with them through difficult times, ensuring they will not be harmed by water or fire.’
Let us take a moment to meditate on Isaiah chapter 43, verse 1, where we are reminded that the Lord not only created us but also formed us in His image. This verse serves as a powerful reassurance for us to not be afraid, as He has saved us and called us each by name, showing His intimate care and love for us. Furthermore, when we combine this message with Ecclesiastes 8:6, we are reminded that there is a divine timing and process for everything, even in the midst of trials and hardships. This serves as a comforting reminder that God is in control and has a purpose for everything that we face in life.
Through these scriptures, we gain a deeper understanding of the Lord’s presence in our lives. He is our Creator, our protector, and our guide through every challenge we encounter. We are encouraged to trust in Him, knowing that He is with us every step of the way and will lead us to victory.
In times of difficulty, we can find solace in the fact that God is always by our side, offering His strength and comfort. As we reflect on these truths, reDefining Expectations, may we lift our heads in praise and give glory to God for His unfailing love and faithfulness towards us. Let us hold onto these promises tightly, knowing that His love for us is unchanging and His plans for us are perfect.
